  8. Welcome to KeyBoard Caper 1.1!

  10. KeyBoard Caper is a educational game for children designed to assist
  11. in teaching your children number and letter recognition while 
  12. also building familiarity with the computer keyboard.  KeyBoard
  13. Caper features colorful, lively animation, dynamic stereo sound,
  14. game timer features, animated keyboard hints, and extensive 
  15. user configurable options.

  17. Some of the features included in KeyBoard Caper are...
  18. -  User selectable Game Piece graphic types (upper
  19.    case letters, lower case letters, or numbers)
  20. -  User customizable interface
  21. -  Lively sound effects
  22. -  Colorful visual indicators of your games progress
  23. -  Game Timer feature (try to beat the clock!)
  24. -  Full context-sensitive online help
  25. -  Animated Keyboard game hints

  28. The game environment is highly customizable allowing the
  29. player to specify settings such as the type of game piece
  30. graphic, animation speed settings, sound options, game timer
  31. limits, gauge display, and more.

  33. The game playing environment features sound, lively music,
  34. and colorful graphics making it especially attractive to 
  35. small children.  And the ability to initiate a 'timed game'
  36. with a variable number of game pieces will provide a 
  37. challenging game playing environment for older players.

  40. or by pressing F1 at most screens.

  56. INSTALLATION - PLEASE READ

  58. Please read over the PACKING.LST to assure that all of the
  59. files were included in the distribution copy you received.
  60. If there are files missing KeyBoard Caper will not install
  61. properly.
  62.  
  63. Note that KeyBoard Caper requires the Microsoft file VBRUN300.DLL
  64. which is the Visual Basic runtime library.  This file is not
  65. included with KeyBoard Caper but may be obtained from many 
  66. Internet sites or commercial online services (such as America
  67. Online, CompuServer, or Prodigy) as well as the SparTech Software
  68. home page (http://www.flash.net/~spartech).

  70. KeyBoard Caper should have been distributed in a 'Zipped' file
  71. format and thus requires the PKUNZIP utility to
  72. uncompress the files.  To install KeyBoard Caper, simply create
  73. a new directory (/keycaper would be nice) and unzip the
  74. keycaper.zip file into this new directory.  Then assure that you
  75. have the vbrun300.dll file in either the /keycaper or
  76. /windows/system directory.

  78. To uninstall KeyBoard Caper simply delete the game's directory and
  79. delete the KEYCAPER.INI file from your \WINDOWS directory.

  101. Postage/Handling of $1.00 is required if user name, serial
  102. number, and pass code must be returned to you by US Mail.
  103. There is no handling charge if the registration packet is
  104. sent to you via EMail (Internet).

  106. Registration entitles you to a 50% DISCOUNT on KeyBoard Caper
  107. upgrades and 20% DISCOUNT on other SparTech software.

  109. To register KeyBoard Caper, print the registration form from the
  110. Help-About menu.  Complete the form and send
  111. it along with your check payable to BRIAN F. HADDOCK
  112. (complete details are in the KeyBoard Caper online documentation).
  113. Your registration will be promptly processed and you will be
  114. sent a registered user name, serial number, and pass code
  115. which you then enter in order to 'register' KeyBoard Caper.

  118. address, and EMail address along with your check or money order for
  119. $9.95 ($10.95 if you wish to recieve your registration packet via
